"Body Architecture" Slippers
Gaspar Libedinsky
For years, architect Gaspar Libedinsky has explored a creative terrain where art, design, and architecture converge. The image of slippers embedded in a mat that left an empty space when they were in use came to him years ago. A sort of welcome mat that lets us know whether the inhabitants are home or not. This piece explores the threshold between exterior and interior, public and private. Gaspar is interested in underscoring that leap from the urban to the domestic scale, in how we take the intimacy of the domestic into the urban space and then bring it back home. With that in mind, he created the perfect slipper, one that extends the experience of walking on a delightful surface with each step.
