Infinite, playful and always surprising, Marta Minujín's work transcends conventional limits to question, activate and transform the viewer. A central figure of Latin American art since the 1960s, she invites us to leave the mind and free the body — to play like children on surfaces that turn her work into a habitable stage for everyday life.
Intertwined Concepts takes as its starting point the homonymous work created by the artist between 2019 and 2022: a large-scale, fluorescent soft sculpture that revisits the mattress as an expressive medium — a resource Minujín has explored since the sixties. The original piece was exhibited at the Jewish Museum in New York and forms part of the show at Copenhagen Contemporary.
With El Espartano Editor, the series became five original textile works, hand-tufted in pure wool in a palette of eleven fluorescent colors. Each piece is an original multiple, signed and numbered by the artist — Minujín's disruptive energy intertwined with more than eighty years of textile craft.
