Architects Juan Manuel Álvarez Morales and Andrés Levy have designed the rugs of our new “Africana” collection. They are handwoven using 100% pure natural virgin wool fibers and are impressive for their warmth and soft texture.
As a tribute to their source of inspiration, the architects chose to give each piece in the collection a feminine name. ALIKA, which means “the most beautiful”, radiates a dynamism of spirit, earth and flora. Each of its color variations present a delicate abstract design.
The hand tufting of the weave results in a rug with a soft, pleasant cut pile texture. The rugs are an ideal addition to modern, clean spaces since their weave and textures provide the perfect contrast to their surroundings. The other designs in the collection are the Tashi, Morowa and Kenya.
Estudio Álvarez Morales & Levy has more than 30 years of experience specializing in design and remodeling and has received numerous awards and recognitions for its excellence in design, by corporations and Casa FOA.
