Burle

Burle is part of a collection of area rugs we have designed in collaboration with Brazilian architect Patricia Anastassiadis. The rugs are inspired by and derive their artistic style from the works of Roberto Burle Max, the emblematic Brazilian landscape architect who created a perfect dialog between avant-garde and modernism. The pure, concise design of the rugs pays homage to his work.

Made with pure virgin wool, the texture is soft and fluffy, like all of the rugs in the Alexa line. The irregular lines of the design and rounded shape of the rug evoke the joy and relaxed spirit we associate with Brazil. The color palette of the collection represents the golden age of Rio de Janeiro.

Patricia Anastassiadis is one of Brazil’s most highly-recognized architects and interior designers. Art, history, architecture and design all come together in the projects she has completed all around the world. From her São Paulo studio, Anastassiadis Arquitetos, she brings together her roots, talent and experience in a surprising manner in each of her projects. Her work has been selected for use by the best international 5-star hotel chains.
