Banano belongs to the Kingdoms collection, created by Cabinet Oseo, formed by sculptor Celina Saubidet and industrial designer Marina Molinelli Wells.
This series of three rugs is inspired by nature observed through a microscopic lens, focusing on those small hidden places that are almost invisible to the eye.
"We carry beautiful patterns within our tissues, just as plants, made up of delicate designs, like a trembling inner garment, like exquisite stamps of identity shared by all kingdoms," reflect the authors.
With an organic shape and in neutral tones, this rug evokes the inside of a banana trunk. It is tufted in 100% wool, with different heights of cut pile and boucle, creating shadow effects that accentuate its three-dimensionality.
The collection stems from the exhibition that Cabinet Oseo presented in 2019 at the National Museum of Decorative Arts, where El Espartano’s rugs served as a base for the large chrysalis sculptures. The imprints in low relief generated by the weight of the artworks on the rugs were the starting point for the development of a new concept and a collaborative creative process.

Vacuum regularly without a brush head, blot spills immediately with a clean dry cloth, and rotate the rug periodically for even wear. Professional cleaning is recommended. Wool is naturally stain-resistant and flame-retardant.
