After earning a degree in architecture from the Universidad de Buenos Aires in 1967, Ricardo Blanco began working at the design company Stilka, developing products with technologies that were unconventional at the time. One project at a time, he became one of the best-known designers in Argentina, particularly of furniture — his outstanding projects include chairs for the National Library and furniture for the public schools of Buenos Aires.
Over the years his career became international in scope, and he remains a major point of reference in Argentine design. Blanco believed that design must bring together three fundamental elements: functionality, technology and beauty.
