Nature seen through a microscopic lens came to life in Kingdoms. This collection of rugs from El Espartano, created in collaboration with Cabinet Óseo, explores the hidden beauty of the plant and animal kingdoms, fusing art and textile design in three unique pieces.

The collection consists of Crisálida, Irupé and Banano — three rugs that reflect organic shapes and textures inspired by the chrysalis of an insect, the delicate ribs of the irupé aquatic plant and the internal structures of the banana tree trunk. The rugs become textile sculptures full of life and three-dimensionality.

The collaboration originated in an exhibition presented by Cabinet Óseo in 2019, which El Espartano accompanied with carpets that served as the basis for the large chrysalis sculptures. When the works were removed, the traces they left behind triggered the idea for the collection.
